Where Does $100 to the American Heart Association (AHA) Go (2023)?
The American Heart Association (AHA) is one of the most popular and recognized non-profits in the United States with enormous public support (although previous years (2018-2020) were not great years for the organization with total revenue down 12% in 2019 to $746 million (compared to $852 million in 2018) and down 6% to $700 million in 2019-2020).
But, AHA rebounded in recent years when total revenue increased to $804 million in 2021 to $856 million in 2022 to $926 million in 2023. Expenses have generally been significantly less allowing the organization to allocate unspent revenue (more than $100 million in many years) to the general fund – by year-end 2023, AHA had more than $1.2 billion in their net fund balance.
