Executive Compensation at Advocate Health Care (2024)

Advocate Health is the third largest tax-exempt non-profit in the United States, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a combined footprint across six states – Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina and Wisconsin.  Within Advocate Health there are:

• Atrium Health:  serves the Carolinas, Georgia, and Alabama
• Aurora Heath Care:  serves Wisconsin and northern Illinois

Advocate Health Care (AHC) – the largest health care system in Illinois – has nine (9) hospitals, 250 care sites and more than 30,000 employees in Illinois.

AHC reported total revenue of $7.8 billion in 2024, most of which came from Medicare/Medicaid ($2.9 billion), BC Managed Care ($1.7 billion), patient services ($1.2 billion), investment income and gains ($873 million), pharmacy ($800 million), and laboratory ($618 million).

Expenses totaled $8.3 billion (including $232 million in depreciation) with the largest expenses reported to be compensation ($3.1 billion), other expenses ($1.5 billion), intercompany expenses ($1.1 billion), medical supplies ($950 million), and interest ($795 million).

AHC reported having $5.6 billion in net assets at year-end 2024.
