Executive Compensation at PBS (2024)

PBS (Public Broadcasting System) is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) television program distributer and broadcaster of educational television content through its 153 member public television licensees.

In 2024, PBS reported total revenue of $558 million (which is consistent with previous years). However, $146 million were non-cash contributions of donated broadcast rights which means total cash revenue was $412 million, most of which came from membership dues and contributions, gifts, and grants. Executive Compensation at American Humane (2024)

The American Humane Association (AHA) – also known as the American Humane Society – is a charitable non-profit 501 (c) 3 that paid its Chief Executive Officer, Robin Ganzert more than $745,000, AND paid for first class domestic travel for her and the board members (there are 15) in 2024.

AHA is a tax-exempt organization that raised $28 million in 2024,  primarily from contributions ($20 million), service fees ($3 million) from movie, television sets, farms, slaughterhouses, etc, and royalties ($3 million), and whose net assets were $31 million at year-end.

Expenses totaled $26 million with the largest expenses reported to be compensation ($12 million) and fees for services – primarily subcontractors and consultants ($6 million).   Read more »

How Revenue is Spent at American Humane (2024)

The American Humane Association (AHA) is a Washington, DC-based (with a Palm Beach, Florida office) non-profit 501 (c) 3 whose “No Animals Were Harmed” certification program in film and television is well-known in the entertainment industry. In addition, AHA certifies zoos, aquariums, conservation centers, and humane treatment in food production (farms, slaughterhouses, etc), awards grants, donates goods, and participates in other program services. How the AHA “ensures the safety, welfare, and well-being of animals” in slaughterhouses is not clear. Read more »
