In 2018, PBS reported total revenue of $539 million. However, $178 million were non-cash contributions of donated broadcast rights which means total cash revenue was $361 million, most of which came from membership dues and contributions, gifts, and grants. Read more

Consumer Reports, the beloved watchdog organization that many people rely on in for unbiased consumer product information is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization based in Yonkers, New York.
In 2019, the organization reported total revenue of $255 million, most of which came from subscriptions (both print and on-line).
Expenses totaled $230 million (not including $15 million in depreciation) with the largest expense compensation ($98 million) for the 690 employees, who received an average compensation of $142,000.
