Today marks 17 years since 9-11 and yet the wounds continue to feel raw, especially for the people who lost family and friends that day. Nearly 3,000 people were killed that day, the majority of whom were adults but there were also eight very young children (ages 2 – 11) who perished when the planes they were on crashed. Had those children lived, they would be 19-28 years old today, in the prime of their lives.

Tomorrow will mark 16 years since 9-11 with most of us remembering 9-11 as the day that changed the world. 2,996 people were killed and thousands more were wounded. Survivors were left without fathers, mothers, children, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, husbands, wives, partners, and friends.
Sean Booker, a 35-year old Xerox technician was working in the Marsh and McLennan office on the 93rd floor of the North Tower when the first hijacked plane (American Airlines Flight 11) struck at 8:46 am between the 93rd and 99th floors. Sean Booker lost his life. Read more
Faina Rapoport was 45 years old when she died on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center. A computer programmer for Accenture (a global professional services company that provides consulting services in digital, technology, and operations), Rapoport worked as a consultant to Marsh & McLennan, the corporation that had offices on eight floors (93-100) of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. When American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower between the 93rd and 99th floors, the individuals on these floors were killed, including Rapoport. Read more
Sharon Balkcom was 43 years old when she died on September 11, 2001 after American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46 am. The plane hit the building between the 93rd and 99th floors, rendering all stairwells and elevators above the 92nd floor impassable. Balkcom worked as an Assistance Vice President of Technology at Marsh & McLennan, an insurance and brokerage firm that occupied eight floors of offices between the 93rd and 100th floors. All 294 employees of Marsh & McLennan present that day, including Sharon Balkcom perished. Read more
