Crispy Green was started in 2004 by Angela Liu who introduced the line of single ingredient products as a healthy snack choice. Made with real fruit and nothing else, Crispy Green freeze-dried fruit comes in six varieties:
- Crispy Bananas
- Crispy Mangoes
- Crispy Asian Pears
- Crispy Apples
- Crispy Cantaloupes
- Crispy Pineapples
Each packet of freeze-dried fruit is free of additives and preservatives, is gluten-free, nut-free, fat-free, and cholesterol free. A light and crispy snack, Crispy Green snacks are also wholesome and delicious. Most importantly, each Crispy Green freeze-dried fruit packet contains one ingredient: the fruit on the label.
Packed in single serving 0.36 ounce resealable travel-friendly pouches, Crispy Green snacks are sold in packs of 6, 18, 36, or 72. The 6-packs are widely available at retail and specialty grocery stores (see the link below for a store locator by zip code) and the larger snack packs are available on-line directly from the company.
The 6-pack of the snack size (0.36 ounces) costs approximately $8 ($1.33 per bag) and the 36-pack costs about $40 ($1.13 per bag) through the company’s website with free shipping for all orders over $75. The larger bags (2.2 ounces) are available at www.soap.com at 3 pouches (18 pouches) for approximately $18, shipping included for all orders above $49.
Headquartered in Fairfield, New Jersey, Crispy Green’s manufacturing facilities are kosher certified and do not process products containing peanuts or other tree nuts. The freeze-dried fruit is sold in a high quality triple layer poly bag with an aluminum lining to protect the fruit from moisture and light for a long shelf life. For a complete explanation of the freeze drying process, see the company website listed below.
In January, 2013, Crispy Green will be releasing a new dried fruit: Tangerine!
