Oats Any Time

by Anne Paddock

In a small town in central Maine just west of Bangor, a company called Oats Any Time (O.A.T.) makes whole grain oat tarts with real fruit filling and a crumb crust that taste rich and scrumptious and there isn’t an ounce of butter, eggs, or dairy used to make these treats. Gluten-free and vegan, the O.A.T. Fruit Filled Crumb Tart is a moist, delicious, and satisfying confection that can be eaten for breakfast or enjoyed as a snack or dessert.

Each tart is made from 100% whole grain steel-cut and rolled oats, whole almonds, brown sugar, almond milk, macadamia oil, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, sea salt and the fruit of your choice: wild Maine blueberries, Maine cranberries, blackberries, date, peach, pineapple, plum, red raspberry, strawberry, apricot, Michigan red tart cherry, and fig. There are also limited seasonal flavors including apple cinnamon, black cherry, black raspberry, key lime marmalade, luscious lemon, pear, pumpkin, and seedless red raspberry.

542633_432881393463908_1117677062_nThe Oats Any Time tart measures 4 inches across, weighs approximately 4 ounces and contains 360 calories with 14 grams of fat (derived from the oats, almonds, almond milk, and macadamia oil) along with 8 grams of fiber and 12 grams of protein. Round and beautiful to look at on a plate, the fruit filled tart has an abundance of qualities including the taste of natural fruit and the crunch of oats and almonds in every bite.

You had me at Whole Grain Oat Tarts. Yum… I’m trying to lose weight, so this might be the best alternative to the processed double-chocolate chip cookies I’ve grown to love.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I never thought anything without butter, eggs, or any dairy could taste so delicious!

Visited this Bakery while I was in Maine vacationing with my sister. The Blueberry tart was delicious.
