Righteously Raw™ Chocolate Bars

by Anne Paddock

Righteously Raw™ is at the forefront of a chocolate evolution – one in which chocolate bars are valued for taste and nutritional qualities – two attributes not often considered together to describe the “food of the gods.” Using raw organic cocoa (rich in antioxidants) and naturally occurring sweeteners and fruits (agave nectar, coconut sugar, coconut nectar, dates, figs and raisins), Righteously Raw™ provides a rich healthy alternative to traditional processed chocolate bars.

RIghteously_Raw_BarsRighteously Raw™ chocolate bars are not like other chocolate bars and are in fact, not nearly as sweet as other bars. With approximately 3-7 grams of sugar per 1 ounce serving, Righteously Raw™ chocolate bars are for those who prefer a chocolate bar where the emphasis is on the cacao and not the sugar-sweetened cacao. It’s like having a piece of whole grain wheat bread instead of a slice of white bread. You’re going to taste the grains in the whole grain bread – just as you’re going to taste the cacao, not the sugar in a Righteously Raw™ chocolate bar.

Righteously Raw™ makes six chocolate bars that are certified organic, kosher, vegan, and gluten-free:

Pure Dark: Unheated, unprocessed, and unadulterated organic raw cacao is blended with organic raw agave nectar, organic raw coconut oil, and organic raw vanilla bean to make a rich 83% dark chocolate bar that screams chocolate in every bite.

Caramel and Cacao: Organic, raw, and low glycemic dates are combined with raw lacuna fruit (a tropical fruit that has a faint caramel, maple, sweet potato/pumpkin flavor), and Himalayan pink salt to form a caramel which is then covered in 90% dark chocolate made with cacao beans, agave nectar and vanilla bean.Righteously_Raw_Caramel_Bar

Goji and Cacao:  Little red Goji berries and raisins blended with ground mesquite pod (a pod with a molasses like flavor) and Himalayan pink salt to form a truffle center that is then covered in 90% dark chocolate made from cacao, agave nectar, and vanilla bean.Righteously_Raw-Goji_Bar

Acai and Cacao:  Organic and raw ingredients (Acai berries, cacao, agave nectar, vanilla bean, and Himalayan pink salt are combined to make a smooth Acai berry truffle center covered in 80% dark chocolate.Righteously_Raw_Acai-Bar

Maca and Cacao: Maca is everywhere in the news these days for good reason: the Peruvian root has similar nutritional values to grains (high in fiber and rich in dietary minerals). Combining the nutty flavor of the maca root with raisins, dates ground mesquite pod and a touch of Himalayan pink salt to make a truffle center, Righteously Raw™ then coats the bar with chocolate made from cacao, agave nectar, and vanilla bean to make what looks like a milk chocolate bar but actually tastes more robust, thanks to the delicious center.Maca

Rose Maqui: Maqui berries (higher in antioxidants than any other botanical) combined with Rose Hips powder, Palma Rosa Oil, red raspberry powder, red beet crystals, brown rice protein powder, cacao, agave nectar, coconut oil, vanilla bean, and Himalayan pink salt make for one delicious (and fragrant) truffle bar.Rose-Bar
