French Broad Chocolates: The Buddha Collection

French Broad Chocolates – an Asheville, North Carolina-based company that includes a chocolate factory, a chocolate bar library (French Broad Chocolate Boutique), and a dessert restaurant (French Broad Chocolate Lounge) in the heart of downtown – also makes the most decadent, beautiful, and scrumptious chocolates called The Buddha Collection. With no dairy, gluten, soy, nuts, eggs, or corn syrup, The Buddha Collection is beloved by vegans and omnivores alike.

How do they do it? By making their own bean-to-bar chocolate and using coconut cream to make a rich and creamy ganache. Then they add other delicious ingredients like locally grown strawberries, balsamic vinegar, lemongrass, ginger, lime, bananas, rum, essential oil of orange and fennel infused olive oil to make truly remarkable chocolates.

The Buddha Collection includes 6 signature chocolates:

The Buddha Truffle:  The original vegan truffle made with bittersweet chocolate and coconut cream.

Strawberry Balsamic Truffle:  An award-winning chocolate made with a puree of local strawberries and organic balsamic vinegar in a dark chocolate and coconut cream ganache; sprinkled with cocoa nibs.

Chocolate Caramel:  A rich, gooey dark chocolate caramel made with coconut milk in a dark chocolate shell.

Lemongrass and Ginger:  Lemongrass, ginger, and lime in dark chocolate coconut cream ganache; topped with a toasted coconut flake.

Banana Rum Caramel:  Organic bananas and dark rum in a creamy coconut caramel in a dark chocolate shell that looks like an architectural masterpiece.

Orange + Olive Oil + Fennel Truffle:  Essential oil of orange blended with fennel infused locally bottled olive oil in dark chocolate; topped with candied fennel.

    If I could only pick one, that would be really hard, but I would pick banana rum caramel. Sounds amazing.
