Steve and Andy’s Candied Orange Peel
Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet. ~Jean-Jacques Rousseau
The foodie world has been abuzz with talk about a Brooklyn-based company called Steve & Andy’s Organics who make organic, non-GMO marmalade, preserves, chutney, handcrafted gluten-free flours, salted lemon peel and candied orange peel. Intrigued with the idea of any product that uses oranges, I set out to obtain Steve & Andy’s Candied Orange Peel, which took some time and persistence because everyone wants this new product. First Field Jersey Ketchup
I’m a total sucker for New Jersey. Although I wasn’t born in the Garden State, I spent most of my childhood in a suburban neighborhood across the street from a fruit orchard where I learned to climb trees and balance myself on a thick branch while enjoying a crisp apple. In middle school, I worked at the local farm stand where I became proficient in the best way to enjoy sweet corn: freshly picked, peeled, and raw. But the most important lesson I learned about New Jersey had to do with tomatoes. Read more
Roots and Branches Artisan Crackers
Simple, pure & delicious….
Three crackers ruled the grocery aisle in the 1960’s and early 1970’s: the Saltine, the Triscuit, and the Ritz. All of a sudden, crackers had savory flavors and boasted of fiber content with unrecognizable ingredients and loads of sodium. But, crackers – like most things – have come full circle with the reemergence of simple crackers made with wholesome ingredients that most of us have in our pantry. Read more

Christopher’s Kitchen
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida is known for sunshine, beaches, golf courses, and Christopher’s Kitchen (“CK”) – a restaurant, juice bar, and market offering the highest quality certified organic plant-based food. Christopher Slawson is the culinary genius behind the CK brand and the bold flavors of the soups, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, noodle and grain bowls, pasta dishes, rolls, pizzas, desserts, juices, and more. That an organic plant-based chef has the word “slaw” in his name is a metaphoric coincidence. Read more
Miyoko’s Kitchen: Vegan “Cheese”
A vegetarian lifestyle has always been a natural fit for me and the only two things that really hold me back from becoming a vegan is butter and cheese. Although infrequent, I do indulge in a Levain Chocolate Chip Cookie or a Salty Oats oatmeal cookie by Kayak Cookies – both of which are made with butter (and eggs). And, then there is cheese. A slice of Comte or Vermont Cheddar on a toasted bagel with lettuce, tomato, and red onion is my dream bagelwich and my go-to snack when I’m on the road and fresh out of energy bars. I can go to any bagel shop and get my fix. “Hold the meat, keep the cheese, and add the veggies” and I’m off and running. Read more
