Askinosie Peppermint Bark

by Anne Paddock

Springfield, Missouri may be the birthplace of Route 66, but the town is also the home of Askinosie Chocolate, a small batch, bean to bar chocolate manufacturer who sources 100% of their cocoa beans directly from farmers throughout the world. Although the company specializes in single origin chocolate bars (whose beans can be traced to the source), Askinosie also makes a truly scrumptious peppermint bark of single origin dark chocolate, buttery white chocolate, and all natural crushed peppermint candy.1450940_10151983602477258_1511962452_n

Askinosie Peppermint Bark is made of cocoa beans, organic sugar, cocoa butter (made in the Askinosie factory), goat’s milk powder, and all-natural peppermint (sweetened and colored by beet juice) and is only available during the holiday season. Sweet – but not too sweet – Askinosie Peppermint Bark is “adult” peppermint bark or for those who truly appreciate dark chocolate. The company often sells out before the holidays arrive so place your order early. The peppermint bark comes in two sizes:

Peppermint Bark Small:  150 grams (5.3 ounces) of peppermint bark nestled in a balsa basket inside a clear plastic sleeve. $15.

Peppermint Bark Large Box: 300 grams (10.6 ounces) of peppermint bark in a rustic, wood-burned, seasonal birchwood box. $30406773_10151251111857258_991372699_n

The peppermint bark can be ordered on-line through the company’s website:  www.askinosie.com. All orders over $59 are shipped free.
