Barnana

by Anne Paddock

Barnana is one of the newest, most delicious super snacks on the market. Created and distributed by Wholesome Valley Foods of La Jolla, California, a Barnana has one ingredient – an organic banana – a chewy bite-sized piece of banana that has been dehydrated at 104 degrees which allows the nutritional density and natural enzymes to stay intact. Gluten-free and a great source of potassium, fiber, vitamins and minerals, Barnanas are 100% raw and unprocessed…and did I mention moist and delicious?545839_410072542346522_601995749_n

Barnanas are not pretty. In fact, some people may consider them a bit unattractive because the banana pieces are a dark brown color. Browning is natural so look past their exterior and consider what really counts:  the taste and nutritional value. Barnanas  are sold in 3.5 ounce resealable packages and sell for about $4 per bag. The company also makes a dark chocolate version of Barnanas containing organic dark chocolate, organic bananas, organic cane juice, organic tapioca syrup, organic gum arabic, and good glaze. Rich, chewy, and sweet come to mind when I eat these treats. Each resealable 3.5 ounce packet sells for approximately $5.534369_410074432346333_364664761_n

To purchase Barnanas or Dark Chocolate Barnanas, go to the company website:  www.barnana.com and check the store locator to find a store near you. Barnanas are stocked in grocery and health food stores nationwide.
