DUN-WELL Doughnuts

by Anne Paddock

“We’re doughnut pioneers.”

The most scrumptious, most delicious, and most decadent melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts are made in a small doughnut shop in Brooklyn called DUN-WELL DOUGHNUTS. Five years ago, Dan Dunbar and Christopher Hollowell who look like the Mast Brothers of chocolate fame – bow tie and all – got together to make New Yorkers a doughnut worthy of ooh’s and ah’s.

Dun-Well_DoughnutsUnable to find a great vegan donut in the food capital of the world, Dunbar and Hollowell decided they could make doughnuts just as great and even better than the doughnuts offered at bakeries across the city and so they opened DUN-WELL DOUGHNUTS at 222 Montrose Avenue in Brooklyn.

Dun-Well_DoughnutsTracking to Brooklyn for a world-class doughnut is worth the effort (take the L train and get off at the Montrose exit) but New Yorkers can now buy these amazing doughnuts in the East Village at 102 St. Marks Street (take the 6 line and get off at 8th Street or the L and get off at 1st Avenue).Dun-Well_Doughnuts_East_Village

On any given day, there are numerous varieties offered including the classic glazed – which would tempt some people to trade their first-born child in exchange for a dozen of these scrumptious creations.Dun_Well_Doughnuts

Flavors change daily and may include Maple, French Toast, Cinnamon Sugar, Vanilla Sprinkles, Chocolate, Chocolate Sprinkles, Strawberry, Cookies and Cream, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Pecan, Cherry Pie, Powdered Jelly, and more.Dun-Well_Doughnuts

Doughnuts are $2.50 each or 6 for $14 or a dozen for $25. Order the dozen. There will be no regrets; only memories of enjoying the lightest most delicious doughnut ever made. Unfortunately the doughnuts cannot be purchased on-line because they have to be enjoyed fresh. To read more about DUN-WELL Doughnuts, go to the website:  www.dunwelldoughnuts.com.dunwell_doughnuts
