Nicobella Dark Chocolate Truffles

by Anne Paddock

Dark Chocolate should be its own food group.

Nicobella Organics makes all natural organic dark chocolate truffles in six flavors: Pure Cocoa Bliss, Ginger Green Tea, Pumpkin Chai, Walnut Flaxseed Crunch, Blueberry Almond, and Sunflower Banana Butter. Rich and decadent, these silky smooth truffles will melt in your mouth making it hard to believe dairy products are not used to make these decadent treats. Instead of milk and cream, Nicobella uses oat milk and coconut oil along with pumpkin seed butter, ginger, green tea, walnuts, flaxseed, blueberries, almonds, sunflower seed butter, raw agave, brown rice syrup, sesame seeds, vanilla beans, cocoa nibs and spices to make their truffles and then enrobes them in Theo’s 70% dark chocolate. The result:  pure bliss.

blueberry_jpgNichole Dandrea  (“Nico”) set out to create exceptional vegan truffles by forgoing ingredients from animals, relying instead on natural plant-based products to create a truffle that magically tastes like a truffle but has half the calories and half the sugar compared to a traditional truffle. These truffles are not overly sweet with each variety showcasing the main ingredients: cocoa, pumpkin, ginger, green tea, walnuts, blueberries, almonds, and bananas. Each truffle contains 1 gram of sugar, 3-5 grams of fat, and 40-61 calories.

nicobella-4The truffles come in a 6-piece box (2.2 ounces) in each variety or as an assortment for $13.50 plus shipping. The company also sells a 3-pack custom assortment for $36. Each dark chocolate truffle is carefully packed in a custom-made decorative box to ensure safe delivery. The truffles have a shelf life of about 4 weeks if stored in 60-65 degree temperatures but that’s never been a problem in our home as the truffles seem to disappear within days. For a 20% discount on a purchase, sign up for the company’s “Munch Crunch” newsletter.1376457_10151917400896278_830148575_n

Nicobella’s truffles are without a doubt the best vegan truffles I’ve ever tasted..it’s hard to believe they are vegan and that no dairy products are used to make them.

  2. I can’t even begin to explain how yummy this post sounds. 🙂
