Seedsters

by Anne Paddock

Seedsters are sprouted seed snacks made from organic sprouted flax, chia, and sunflower seeds:  three seeds packed with protein, fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. Conceived and manufactured by Doctor in the Kitchen out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Seedsters are organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, raw, and nut-free. Crunchy and delicious, Seedsters can be sweet, savory,  or a little bit of both depending  on the variety:  Cinnamon and Currants (my favorite), Sea Salt and Black Pepper, Sweet Onion and Garlic, and Sweet and Smoky Barbecue.Doctor-In-The-Kitchen-Seedsters-Sprouted-Seed-Snack-Cinnamon-And-Currants-893615002084

The nutritional attributes of Seedsters are impressive. Each 1 ounce serving has 150 calories, 5 grams of fiber, 5 grams of protein, 1-4 grams of sugar, 35-160 grams of sodium, and 11-12 grams of fat (from the seeds). A perfect snack food, Seedsters can easily be packed in a lunchbox, backpack, or toted along in the car for those times when hunger strikes. Each 3.5 ounce bag is resealable and can be purchased at grocery stores and health food stores throughout the country (see the store locator service on the company website: www.drinthekitchen.com).Banner-seedsters500

Seedsters can also be purchased on-line directly from the company:  www.drinthekitchen.com, or through www.vitacost.com or www.abesmarket.com. Each 3.5 ounce bag sells for approximately $6.
