Organic Nectars Chocolate
Sometimes simplicity is the point…..
Organic Nectars has been dedicated to making and delivering the finest quality artisanal food products for more than a decade. Based out of small town – Maldon-on-Hudson – about 40 miles south of Albany, Organic Nectars specializes in raw products (nothing heated above 118 degrees to preserve maximum nutritional value) that are healthy, environmentally friendly, and delicious.
The company’s raw cacao bars are truly a breakthrough line of chocolate that consider both the ingredients and the processing in the making of a bar worthy of oohs and aahs. Using only raw, vegan, organic, and kosher parve ingredients – all free of dairy, soy, and refined sugar, Organic Nectars makes perhaps one of the most nutritious chocolate bars on the market.
The process starts with raw cacao (made with organic Theobroma Criollo cacao beans which are native to the deep tropical regions of Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Sri Lanka and account for only 5% of the world’s cacao production) to maximize antioxidant and mineral content. The cacao is then sweetened with low glycemic organic coconut sugar (also made by the company) – that does not spike the blood sugar level – from the coconut palm tree, and organic vanilla beans. The company makes three types of traditional chocolate bars:
- 54% Cacao: dark sweet chocolate
- 70% Cacao: dark semisweet chocolate
- 85% Cacao: dark bittersweet chocolate
In addition, Organic Nectars makes three types of raw chocolate bars for those who prefer a milk chocolate, white chocolate, or a raspberry dark chocolate bar:
- Nut Milk Chocolate: a milk chocolate bar made with cashew milk instead of dairy or soy products
- Golden White Chocolate: a raw white chocolate that primarily relies on coconut palm sugar, cacao butter, raw cashews
- Raspberry Chocolate (dark 64% cacao with organic raspberry powder)
Each 1.4 ounce bar is handmade and sells for about $5 at Whole Foods Market. The bars can also be purchased on-line at the company website: www.organicnectars.com.
