Theo Salted Almond 70% Chocolate Bar

by Anne Paddock

Seattle-based Theo Chocolate makes one of the best tasting dark chocolate bars on the market:  the Salted Almond 70% Chocolate Bar. The company starts with the finest 70% dark chocolate made from organic, fair trade and non-GMO certified cocoa beans (that come primarily from the Congo, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Peru) and adds organic almonds and a touch of Fleur de Sel to produce the ultimate sweet and slightly salty chocolate bar that has a crunch in every bite.

1303_Theo_ClassicBars_SA70_Web_CL-1As one of ten Classic Bars made by Theo Chocolate, the idea for a Salted Almond 70% Chocolate Bar was born out of the popularity of the milk chocolate (45%) version. Milk chocolate is more popular in this country but with dark chocolate providing a more intense cocoa experience, Theo Chocolate realized the dark chocolate devotees were being overlooked and so the same bar was created in a dark chocolate version.

Real chocolate is a mixture of finely ground roasted and fermented cacao seeds and sugar. A 70% chocolate bar contains 70% ground cacao (which is composed of cacao butter), sugar, and ground vanilla bean.  Theo added almonds and Fleur de Sel to create the Salted Almond 70% Chocolate Bar: an intense, rich, and yummy bar that offers the perfect balance of rich, sweet dark chocolate and salty crunch in one bar.  You won’t find any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives in a Theo bar: just good wholesome ingredients.

The Theo Salted Almond 70% Chocolate Bar comes in a 3 ounce size and is available throughout the country in fine grocery stores or can be purchased on-line directly through the company’s website: www.theochocolate.coom for $4 each, or through where 4 bar packs can be purchased for $12.76 (with free shipping for all orders over $49).  The bars can also be purchased for about $3 from Whole Foods also carries the bars and is offering two bars for $6 this week….time to stock up!
